Mechworks Mechanical Contractors, Service Maintenance Plan

Maintenance Plan

Dirt and neglect are the top causes of heating and cooling system inefficiency and failure. To ensure efficient system operation, it is important to perform routine maintenance.

This service agreement insures you that your air conditioning & heating equipment will operate at the efficiency rating specified for your particular equipment.

Whether your equipment is new or old, small or large, all manufacturers recommend annual maintenance. Some manufacturers will void warranties due to lack of routine maintenance.

• 10% off all repairs to customers with a maintenance plan

• Tune ups twice per year

• Priority service over customers without plan

• 1 year guarantee on parts we repair

• Leak search included (refrigerant or carbon monoxide)

Cooling Tune Up Includes:

• Our factory qualified technicians perform a thorough check up including amp draws and voltage which are compared to the rating of your equipment’s name plate

• Outdoor coil cleaning ($149 value)

• Drain line cleared and treated ($149 value)

• Visual inspection of equipment

• Inspection of air ducts

• Refrigerant level check once per year

• Inspection of safety float switches

• Drain pan inspection

• Refrigerant leak search

• Inspection of filters and belts

• Condensate pump inspection

Heating Tune Up Includes:

• Gas pressure check on all gas furnaces

• Drain lines will be cleared on all 90+% gas furnaces ($149 value)

• Electric/emergency heat check

• Visual check of all heat exchangers

• Inspection of filters and belts

• Amp draws and capacitors will be checked on all equipment. This information will be compared to the equipment name plate.

Advanced Energy LogoThis non-profit organization examined air conditioning manufacturer’s efficiencies versus the actual efficiencies that result after installations.

• 90% of the units tested exhibited some sort of energy wasting problems

• 50% had an improper refrigerant charge

• 40% failed to meet minimum air flow criterion.

20% were barely inside the range specified by manufacturers.

• A deficiency of 20% in air flow reduces efficiency rating by 17%.

• A 15% return air leak from a 120 degree attic could reduce efficiency by 50%!

Honeywell LogoEnergy efficiency experts at Honeywell found that a typical heat pump would lose almost 50% of its efficiency after 20 years, even if a typical “dust stop” filter had been installed.

In 20 years, a 12 SEER unit could degrade to a 6 SEER if it is not properly maintained. This would double the energy cost, and reduce efficiency by half.

Consumers can save about $30 per month just by having their air conditioning system cleaned and serviced regularly.
